// Parchment82 FAQ

What is Parchment82?

Parchment82 is a web directory modelled on the working practices of a traditional printer's shop. The 829 listed sites are organised into 22 named sections — galleys, formes, and imprints — each corresponding to a particular type of business or service. Think of it as a typeset index of the web rather than a search engine.

Is it free to list my site?

Yes. Submitting a site to Parchment82 costs nothing. Use the submission form, provide your site address and choose the appropriate section, and the listing will be reviewed. If approved, it will be set into type and added to the catalogue.

How are sites organised in the catalogue?

Sites are grouped into 22 named sections based on the type of business or service they offer. Each section has a name drawn from print-shop terminology — Galley, Forme, Imprint, or Proof — and covers a distinct area: everything from the Wager and Table Forme for gaming sites to the Surgery Imprint for dental practices.

How long does a review take?

Reviews are carried out manually. Most submissions are processed within a few working days, though the timeline can vary. You will not receive a notification, but you can check the relevant section of the catalogue to see whether your listing has appeared.

Can I submit more than one site?

Yes. Each site requires a separate submission. Please place each one in the section that most accurately describes it — a site submitted to the wrong section may be moved or declined during review.

What sections does the directory cover?

Parchment82 covers 22 sections: adult content, motoring, fashion, gaming, trades, dental, official documents, education, finance, dining, interiors, industry, legal services, health, media, a general miscellany section, pet services, printing, property, digital marketing, technology, and travel. The General Galleys section accepts sites that do not fit neatly into any of the other 21.

How do I find sites in a specific section?

Use the section listing on the home page to navigate directly to the relevant galley, forme, or imprint. Each section page shows all approved listings for that category, along with a description of what the section covers and a guide to browsing it.

// About the ANCHOR

Parchment82 is a web directory that borrows its structure and voice from the print trade — each of its 829 listed sites is set into one of 22 named sections, much as a compositor arranges type into galleys and formes before a press run. The catalogue covers adult sites, automotive businesses, fashion brands, casino and gaming platforms, tradespeople, dental practices, document services, schools, finance companies, restaurants, interior designers, industrial manufacturers, law firms, health providers, media outlets, a broad general section, pet services, printing businesses, property companies, digital marketing agencies, technology firms, and travel operators. Browsing Parchment82 is less like searching a database and more like leafing through a well-organised index — each section clearly marked, each entry properly set. New sites are accepted through the submission form and reviewed before the press runs on their listing. Whether you are looking for a specific service or surveying an entire sector, Parchment82 offers a clean, typeset view of the web.
